Kaye Miller-Dewing BA(Hons)
Artist statement Until recently Kaye worked mainly with watercolour/gouache, but is becoming increasingly more experimental, alternating between various mediums including acrylic, oil, enamel, and other mixed media, including an emergence of 3D pieces. Her work has developed from predominantly fine art to include more abstract and impressionistic work, testing colour and the effect of different forms of application and approaches. The combination of one medium with another affords each medium a transformation beyond itself alone. Kaye’s ultimate aim is to create pieces that please and inspire people, bring happiness and optimism. She presents her subject matter in an alternate way from the norm, in an unusual format or arrangement, from a different angle or perspective. She always strives to impart a sense of life or movement, depth or emotion in her work, imbuing the finished piece with an innate life and ability to continue changing.
